"Tryton" was established in 2009. Its uppermost aim and task is the protection and conservation of herpetofauna. The society participates in a number of actions often cooperating with other groups and supporting their activities, also providing substantial consultations. Our actions are not based on the concept that nature is more important than human beings. We focus on guaranteeing that the existing law (Code of Administrative Procedure, penal code, European Community Law, Nature Conservation Law ) is enforced. It is evident that departments and agencies that should protect wildlife often undertake procedures that do not take into account the conditon of amphibians and reptiles, almost as if these animals were nonexistent. If such situation continues they will, in fact, cease to exist.
